Nothing wrong with some good old Spam! Very versatile it is. Here is a funny for ya, my mil used to babysit kiddos, 4 to 5 most every day. She would slice spam thin and bake it a few minutes and the kids loved it. Now my FIL did not like it, he called it opossum in a can. Those kids got to where they would ask for opossum for lunch, they wanted it at least once a week and would ask for it more. You can imagine the mothers of those little ones, they would ask for it at home and the moms would be baffled.

Opened my first can for lunch today. Teriyaki flavored, sliced off a bit thin afterwards chopped it up. Scrambled 2 eggs in a skillet, added the Spam, also nuked a pouch of Uncle Ben's Jasmine rice to eat with the combo. Smashed it all together with a fork, added some soy sauce, and ate a serious soft food lunch. The Spam was wonderful compared to Ensure & Carnation Liquid Breakfast cartons.

Thank you Bud, we are doin' good. My best friend is a Dentist and he took a look today while I was dropping off some fillets for their Sunday dinner. I will be heading to Wally World in the morning to buy more Spam, I really like it. Maybe some Corned Beef in a can too. I can't chew hardly at all so it has to be soft enough to mash with my tongue and just swallow whole.

Spam makes a good quick fried rice. I also like Spam sammiches. Slice the Spam and fry in a nonstick pan with butter and coke. Let the coke caramalize. I made a couple believers out of this and sometimes at night, while working we would have this. 12 guys would go through 6 to 8 cans and a and 4 or 5 packs of buns. We would dress them like burgers, sometimes chips, sometimes fries. Those group meals made the night shift better.

John, this brought back some memories. Other night shift meals were, beans and rice of course with sausage and jalapeno cornbread. Fried fish. Barbeque on a grill our pipe fitters built for us. Probably cost exxon $3000 to build it .haha. Grilled ribeyes. Oven pork with gravy and mashed taters. I liked the ends of the loin roast. One of the guys always sliced them off and hid them from me. He also did that when we had meatloaf. Man you should have seen the size of those. haha. The request for me to cook was chicken spaghetti with garlic bread that we made, not the store bought. I still cook this, but a much smaller batch. Also forgot , shoot the works gumbo. That was usually Christmas meal. Traditional thanksgiving also. Exxon paid for the ingredients for most of these meals. We cooked them when we held our monthly safety meetings. We ordered seafood trays for special events. No wonder I'm fat. I did not even mention making 5 or 6 batches of ice cream for 12 guys.
My simple bread, which is published in the C.c cook book and another cookbook from Texas.

Slice a loaf of French bread lengthwise. Slather both insides with butter. Not margarine or spread, that is a sin. Sprinkle a light coating of garlic powder. Sprinkle a liberal coating of parmesan cheese. Put the halves on your oven rack at 350. When the butter melt and starts bubbling, switch over to broil at 500/ Watch closely just letting it brown a little and crisp up a little. Pull it out and cut or pull into pieces. Yummy

Thank you this. I have to be careful still so the bone graft is not damaged. Some kind of powder as I understand it that will grow into a bone. Since the work was done on my upper teeth under the sinus cavity I can't chew at all on one side. I'm mashing the Spam right now and hopefully can fry some soon. I did pickup 3 more cans today, Korean BBQ, Bacon, & Original flavors. Also picked up some canned ground pork and beef to make bowls using instant mash potatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, and what ever seems to work with the combos. Loosing weight right now and being built like a Rat Snake doesn't help. Eating Ensure, Instant Breakfasts, soft boiled eggs, grits, etc 5-6 times a day to try to maintain my weight. I hit the Little Debbie isle hard today too. The little stick shaped frosted cakes are easy to eat. I will be trying the Butter & Coke Spam as soon as I can!
