    Default Finally Getting it Done

Well, It's finally gonna get done May 24/25, I am the first of 8 to sign up for that week-end classes with Mud Hole. Also ordered the S781 6'6" Ultra Light blank, SSR Guide set, some extra size 6 running guides (so the bobber stops don't hang up), matching tip. and a Tennessee handle w/ rings.

After many false starts, due to unexpected life things getting in the way, Lord willing, this will happen. Probably could figure the different grip mounting parts out, but just easier to do the class. Besides, It would cost as much as the class, or real close, for everything that you get with the class to build the rods...
I'll post pic's as things develop. Stay tuned....

Yep Dave, sure gonna be. Nice thing about the online classes is they are smaller than in-person, it's via a Zoom call, like a conference call with video. More one on one if needed. I pretty much have most of it down, like the guide spacing and wrapping, Epoxying them etc. but I'll get more info on the grips as well as the tools, and a small amount of supplies....Going to be great, and will end up with a Rod to boot all in the price of the class. Now the Rod components listed in the 1st thread above is in addition to the class and will be a second rod.

Good news Eric. I’ve done several rods and learned a ton from different videos and visits to Mudhole. One of the perks of living a half hours drive away. I’m looking forward to see how it all works for you. One thing I want to tell you from personal experience is to not be intimidated by a given task or technique. For winding experiments, that’s why god made a razor blade. If you don’t like it, take it off and start again. I’ve even had to sand off finish and do it again. Most everything can be fixed or redone.

Thanks everyone. It's a ways off yet, Wi-Fi keeps dropping on the new laptop. Very aggravating for someone who knows little to nothing about computers...Turns out the ATT Fiberoptic systems is 5.0 MHz and this new computer is 2.4MHz. It works then it drops. Hopefully when another new computer gets here around the 10th. For several days I wanted to pull my hair out. Skeet, yes, I agree with you on YouTube...There are many great videos out there. Then there are content that costs a few dollars but has (I think), Lifetime access like Visual Wrap, PCStitch, and threadcentral.net. wrapture has a bunch of Crosswraps for reference to aid folks. And yes, mistakes can be backed up and redone, or cut off and redone.
But, before all the fun begins, I get to replace the subfloor in Miss Joyce's Laundry room. Thinking real hard on getting me one of the kneeling pads DSJ showed me before, as well as my padded knee pads. I'm not suremy knee's up to ityet, but I have 11 days and her new Washer and dryer will be delivered. So not sure it will be fun, but it will be....

Got an email that my Packages, (yes Plural) are ready for shipping, so Monday they'll be on the way. Did some window shopping and found a power wrapper/ Dryer set-up on GitBit Outdoors for a real good price. So hopefully it will be here soon as well. Don't know about anyone else, but I watch those tracking numbers like a hawk over a rabbit...sometimes I'll check a few times in a day...obsessively.

You’re going to want another dryer to coat one while you work on another. Look up a rotisserie motor replacement for a microwave they turn close to 8-15 rpm and figure out which Chuck you want on it and make a wood frame. Your hand wrap station extra stands can do this fine. I use mine a lot. Very simple. Have fun with the new toys, you’ll enjoy the roller deck.

Has anyone had any doings with Get Bit Outdoors? Wanting to order a power wrapper they have is the reason for asking. If so, what was their turn around time for shipping, actually getting it shipped.
