Nice. Good job

After striking out yesterday on a 4+ hour boat trip to the local water reservoir, I got a chance to do a quick 30 minute trip to the Town Pond this evening.
I took my newest acquisition that arrived as I was loading up to leave .
I quickly slipped a Shimano Soare XR500sspg loaded with Daiwa J braid .
I got to slime my 5’6” Daiwa Presso and redeem myself for pitching a goose egg yesterday.
In the thirty minutes I caught two shellcrackers and a nice bluegill .
The rod was fun , with a lot of bend , especially in the top half .
Sensitivity was ok , nowhere near what the five foot, one piece version has .
I’d been looking for 5’6” one for awhile , they’re getting hard to find .
I was happy to find some panfish willing to play .

Good trip and no bad news about the revisitation of the boat. All good. Good that went well even if the fish didn’t play well. Also happy to see you with a rod just like mine. As you said it’s not exceptional but kinda nice for the duckies and the ascetics are nice too. The bend and business end of mine is a lot like my Lightning rod but half the weight, maybe less. It shoots a jig with the best of em too. It’s neat that you find shellcrackers pretty regular and I almost have to beg for em. I haven’t seen a big coppernose in a while now. Have fun with the boat and your new rod, and please be careful.
I also sealed mine with polyurethane after taping it up so it wouldn’t gather grime and discolor over time. So far, so good.
