Just placed an order for Soare XR s510L-s. I know i said the Presso Ltd Italian Special was very likely my last JDM rod, however it seems I still have an itch to scratch since my inception into the JDM world barely just a few years. Anyhow there are not much written on this forum about the Shimano light game rod, especially this XR series. Victor from YT i_fish sealed the deal for me by calling it the "world most beautiful " rod. As most know sometimes catching fish is NOT the only reason we buy our new and shiniest of gear. Here's a quick peak at the spec.:Name: Screenshot_20241231_151018_Gallery.jpg

...first off its very ballance. I'm comparing it with one very familiar rod almost the world over: The Abu Eradicator. Name: 20250106_170149.jpg

...and as you can see i think the Shimano XR has the edge when it comes to craftsmanship. They're same length and about same in diameter, but the Abu feel tip heavy due to probably shorter handle, but in hand the XR feel heavier. At MSRP it was was 50$ or so more than the Eradicator and I can see why....better finish, X-guides, and probably hook keeper...lol. At $159 it is and will be a steal!!! Hope you like the observation! Cheers!

Great deal on a beautiful rod. I think you have a gem. My first JDM rod is a 7' Shimano Soare BB that I paid $120 including shipping in 2018. Liked it so much I bought another as a spare. It's still my favorite rod over ALL my other rods including G LOOMIS and all the custom rods I had built over the years plus all JDM rods that I've gotten since. Paired with my Stella 2000CS it feels like I have a magic wand in my hand.

Congrats on a beautiful piece of gear. I hear a lot about them and it’s all good. You’ll have a lot of memories made with that one. I just prices a Stella that Jim spoke of and one of those is not in my future for now. Never say never.

...comparing to the Eradicator 510ul rating, this Soare XR s510L-s slightly less bend is to be expected since both are Ajing designated!

Hi there. I saw your posts on the Soare XR 510L-s and I was hoping if you might describe the fishing characteristics of the rod a little better for me. I'm new to all this JDM stuff but boy did this rod stand out to me! What a beautiful presentation from Shimano, reminds me of the Poison Adrena.

Wondering what types of things you use it for? Right now I have a 7' St. Croix Avid UL-F, but it's always been kind of whippy for my taste. Targeting Bluegills and crappies in local small lakes. Nothing huge, usually with 1/16oz jigs and plastics or little beetle spins, etc. Do you think the "light" designation of this rod would be a good fit? Thanks for your time!
