The crazy thing is, the 2010 camper has a 6 ft slide (pictured above) where I want to put the 12 ft slide out of the 2022, and it’s a rack/pinion also. So I should be able to use the existing rack/pinions with the new 12 ft slide, and really would only have to install one additional rack/pinion under the addition. How cool is that. They are both 3 ft deep too, yay. Seems like the 2010 camper is made pretty well, it has two rack and pinion slides (one is 6ft long, the is 12 ft long), plus it has a bedroom slide that is gear driven as well.

Slab that's not a Linear Actuator in the foreground? Lippert makes a Linear actuator movement that uses a rack and pinion to keep the off side aligned. If you have a electric motor and gear box like in earlier pictures ignore this post but I've changed a actuator that looked just like that one. I have this style of slides in both sides of my camper now.

I really can't answer that right now (we're away camping in the 2010 cougar and it's all covered in plasic underneath) but I assume there is an electric motor there like the other. That thing pictured is hollow (except for all the spider webs and dirt dobbers). We'll see, I'll open her up once I get home.

Oh, now that I reread stuff, thats the 2010 slide pictured above, the 2022 is what is likely the lippert system. The one on the 2010 is, I dono! lol We'll see, we're so far off from trying to install this 2022 slide into the 2010 camper that it ain't funny. I have to demolition the 2022, and takes it all aparts first. That's start when the FIL makes it down in about two weeks. yay, demolition!!!

This picture shows its a linear actuator. That rack & pinion is because the actuator is only on one side. Lippert has been around for quite a while well before your 2010 unit was manufactured. Have fun camping I understand what's happening, I do the exact same thing. I spend months if not years working out a project in my head well before any action takes place. I sound it out while driving too, used to drive my wife crazy till she learned it's how I work things out in my head.

Thinking about projects is how I go to sleep at night. Like counting sheep. Sometimes I dream the answer too! lol
