Default EP minnows. Need your input.

Here are a couple more of my EP fiber minnows. It's hard to tell but they are very thin...almost see through. I need your input as to the shape and if anyone has worked with this material. I know it's not just a tail and chenille that most tiers do but I think it has some real potential. Give me your thoughts please.Name: green ep.jpg

The profile looks very similar to a Threadfin shad or little gill which would be great. How do they look wet?

They slim down when wet and look real good. Very life like I think. I'm stuck down here on this island and can't crappie fish till I get home in May. Going to be there all this summer so am hoping to drop the water level.

Tie in a red hackle or a bit of tensile down the side. Give it a bleeder line. Sometimes helps with the bite.

Yeah...thats a great idea. Am planning on add some color with markers if I keep going down this path. I have seen a lot of streamers for saltwater made this way...just no crappie jigs. The lake I fish is full of shad and I am thinking this should be a killer.

They look good. How do they look underwater?

From my understanding certain materials in white become transparent underwater so tyers will tie up mylar or similiar material to the shank to mimic a bait fish.

I’ve seen salt water flies from a similar material made reasonably thick, then the sides are shaved or scissored off to make it skinny but tall. Just a thought. I think they’ll catch fish like they are.
