This flagship Daiwa price does seem steep, but it's actually in-line with many US own top shelf stuff like G.Loomis, St Croix or even exotic JDMs from Shimano, Evergreen and Tenryu. Last time i checked 1 model 6'1" version still available from Croatia and ALL 3 available from Italian web store, TogniniPesca. Just trying to help members source this hard to find piece of engineering...lol. Thanks again for chiming in!

    Oh , I’m envious .
When I pay more than $200 for one , I’m afraid to use it , unless it has a warranty that I can depend on .
I take care of my rods . Most still look new except for stained cork handles .
Even since , many years ago, I closed the hatchback on my 1974 Vega GT on my 5’ white glass spiral wrapped Shakespeare ultralight , I almost cry when I break one .
I’ll never forget that day . Could never find another one .

Gillchaser, I know exactly the feeling. I broke 2 Abu UL rods and I never blame the manufacturer, but it still sored.
As I mentioned earlier this Presso with AGS carbon guides is and will be my only rod above $250 limit i set for myself. I somehow blame Alphahawk, sorry Randy...lol. He did say in order to see for oneself how good an Daiwa Ags rod is, is to just bite the bullet and buy 1.

Here is a reel i picked up used out of Japan in pretty good condition last year for my 4-pc Iprimi. I think orange accents go well with this Presso Ltd Ags also:Name: 20241017_085613.jpg

Hi, thanks for the post i just ordered the 6'1 version off maguro too, everyone is saying how bad the price is but it's practically half off over there compared to the japan one, how could we not buy it lol. I'm curious though where would the new presso rod rank for you out of 10, and for comparison where would the eradicator ?
Thanks LVSpinfisher1 thanked you for this post

A very good looking combo and I’m sure it will live up to your expectations. You’ll have to keep us posted as you get it good and slimy.

JDM, now that I've actually caught over a dozen rainbow trout on my Ags Italian Special Presso 58ML-S in an actual "AREA" type pond, I'm rating it 10 out of 10 for comfort, lightness, and casting ease ( due to more blank flex ) compare to my Eradicator 510ul, but remember the Abu is an Ajing rod so will different. Same can be said if i was LRF..ing for saltwater species, than the Abu would rate better. In terms of pure craftsmanship and the fact Daiwa used all in-house design parts except maybe tip guide it's a step above the Abu and i believe the price reflects that. Thanks for commenting!

Wait a minute so if I'm following threads correctly, earlier today you posted the above and tonight you posted New AGS Limited Italian Special

Am I missing something or was your wife reading your mind? If I'm following this right, although from reading your posts over the years, I already knew this, you my firend have a keeper. Scott
