Caught a Blue Cat on Crappie Gear

I have caught quite a few channel cat while crappie fishing. My friend even worst he hook 15-20lb carp with crappie jig and light rod. I admit it was a fun fight but a hassle to land since I don’t use net and often time fishing from dock.

Catfish are a pain. My friend and I catch more catfish while crappie fishing. When we purposely fish for catfish, we get skunked. When one uses minnows, you'll encounter the bullhead. Always swallow the hook and when hooked, you think you got a big slab on. Instead, a whiskered fiend shows up. Catfish get equal treatment like the crappie; in the bucket they go.
