Cool It was THAT good ....

4 pm to 5:30 pm , low wind , not terribly hot , lots of sunshine .....
tried a few different sizes and colors , didn't seem to matter .....
managed to box up 43 in that time and let about 10 or 15 go on their way ....
upper water column in 10 to 12 fow ....
some as shallow as 2 or 3 feet down .....
used a float some and free lined it as well .....
they were still hammering bluegill fry and the fry have gotten larger .....
now there are 2 or 3 different sizes of bluegill fry hanging around on the surface ....
got bit EVERY single time I put a jig in the water ....it was that good
KABOOM is what I do , of course individual results may vary
the bite did not quit , I did ....gets boring when the bite is that good ....
not EVEN kidding .....heavily petting them pet crappie is me
sides all that, being all alone, the ice chest gets pretty heavy
I had to drag it to the truck and that my friends is quite enough of that
Dobyns colt series 6 ft panfish special , high end Pflueger something er other
6 lb Slime line and assorted jigs in 1/64 and 1/32 and 1/16 ....
    Comal pinch on float ....
bet money if I just tossed them all back and didn't play with them so much
I could a topped 100 really easily ....all that image capturing and deciding who leaves the lake and who don't and them jumping out of my secondary live well set up in my 5 gallon bucket was wasting lots of time ....
there is for sure a method to my madness , it just isn't always clear to some
and then, there is a reason folks never use my real name when they address me ...
fish were donated to a good cause , hungry less fortunate people like this type of thing ...
    good times for sure

thanks ,that spot has become quite a blessing , 3 years later and thousands of shorts out of there and it will produce a nice bunch of decent size fish now ,hard work , but someone needed to do it

Congrats on catching all those slabs and donating them. That's quite a load to be dragging to the truck. 43 crappie plus ice and cooler is quite a load. Think a two wheeler would make things a lot easier on the back, especially with all the crappie you haul around. You made my back and legs hurt just thinking about it.

sometimes it makes me feel kinda old for sure . my body does not care for it much these days , should get me a wheeled ice chest for sure ...
but being a cheap skate slows that part of me down tremendously
