Reelfoot has in the last couple years went from a no length limit, to a 10” size limit. The Big Four in Mississippi first went from no guide license, to charging out of state guides a pretty good yearly fee. And, just this year, they have went from a 15 per person limit to a 10 per person limit. Make your own opinion about it.

If you’re asking me if Reelfoot was loaded with too many shorts, I would say no. Now, others may say different. I don’t know the reasoning behind the change. I do know that I have heard several locals calling for some kind of change, because they felt that the fish numbers had dwindled.

I just found out that crappie (especially black crappie) are considered an invasive species in Maine. I might have to plan a trip to do my part to help reduce the crappie population up there!
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
Enjoy!

I absolutely love watching the fish come up and hit the jig but the thing I like most about it is if you look and don't see any fish you can leave and it saves time fishing where there is no fish.
