    Default Jigs ....

tried the ever popular grey ghost one day last week or maybe it was this week ...
tried a hot pink one as well on another visit to my lunch break area .....
neither performed miracles and the bite is really slow right now ....
a dozen assorted size crappie is a decent visit and in this heat ....
you just don't want to stay long trying to dupe them ...
dosed the grey one in slab sauce several times , seemed to be a better bite than the pink with nibbles on it .....
no particular solid pattern seems best , slowly rising is one that performs pretty well and sometimes dragging in VERY slowly works too ....
snakes are busy and on another dock beside mine it seems a gator has taken up residence as well ....
the snake did not show up until there were crappie in my bucket .....
ran it off , but it's intentions were quite clear ....
and in the end , I got a big glass of ice water and it's for sale ....
no low balling you guys , I KNOW WHAT I GOT !
and KABOOM is still the right word ....just saying

Nice crappie fishes especially in the heat. That gator looks pretty big, wouldn't want him in my swimming hole. He certainly looks cooler than you were.

there is lots of chatter about them in that lake currently , its a lake right inside the city and very popular for recreational water activities , they come into the lake sometimes from a wildlife sanctuary above the lake , they seem to be moving in lately in larger numbers , they posted signs about them at all the ramps , here in texas you may not mess with them , you will likely get it like you ain't ever got it if you do .....
it's a duper big no no to kill one or harm or feed or harass one .....

I guess folks should think twice about jumping in for a swim! Scheeze, that was a nice sized gator. Snake was a cocky guy!

was pretty much like wow , they got a sense of smell that is unbelievable , back in the spring the bite was on fire and I was pitching some behind me in the grass , turned to pick them up and put them in my bucket and one was gone !

Water at boat ramp is higher due to the concrete the ramp is made of. ??
