I have two of these bright orange though.

Nope, not that old, but brings back memories. Painted flat black, cracked and still holding a little bit of water, all the better to ride low and not attract every eye on the lake.
I remember actually losing fish because I wouldn’t pick up the rod and set the hook when people were watching

Me too with the let them go until boats pass. I painted my blaze orange ones camo…..lol
I dropped a painted marker for a buddy one day. He was late for some odd reason. I left before he got there. Later that evening, he called, and two other boats beat him to the spot.lol He knew one of the boats so asked if he could get my camo marker. They had a good laugh, and he brought my marker to me. Always amazed me with how all fishermen could spot these camouflaged markers from a mile away. I stopped using them as much with the electronics we have now. I also stopped painting them.

I have several "H" shaped ones like that one, JW ... and a couple that are "bowtie" shaped closed cell foam ones that are so old even Google doesn't have a picture of them![]()
My "bowties" are chartreuse and my H shaped ones are blaze orange. Haven't used the "bowties" in a long time, and don't think I've ever used the "H" shaped buoys. The "bowties" float low to the surface & are kinda hard to see, unless you're fairly close to them.

I like the little B&M ones for being stealthy
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Once after I’d got on board w gps, but was still side pulling, I was wearing em out one day, a bend and deeper spot in a creek channel that crossed a big flat. 1/2 mile or more from the nearest bank. After many passes, I noticed that piece of trash wasn’t moving. Looked closer, it was a tiny little bug dope bottle, mono and some sort of weight. I left it be, but wondered if whoever put it out ever found it again.

Haha them were the days. Still have mine at the side of my seat ready to deploy. Haven’t used in years though. Mine came camo colored. Like this style as they didn’t take on water unlike the hard plastic ones. Are a soft rubber like material with non-lead weights.

I had seven of them when I got to digging through all my stuff a while back. I drilled mine and filled with good stuff. Kept three and sold the rest. In TN we all called em boat attractors. They had their place. I left one to return to it in a while and a guy pulled up and started rolling it up like it was his. Quit using them much after that. There was some that were small and black, I thought they would be a lot better for the way I fish.
