    Default Sabine River

Took my buddy Chris to the Sabine River near Starks, La. on Monday. Fished my hair jigs, locating some decent slabs on laydowns. This is the second time I’ve taken Chris slab hunting, the first time was at Vernon Lake. He’s loving it Sabine River. Name: IMG_5396.jpg

That’s an awesome stretch of water! I fished it years ago. Put my canoe in below the dam. Caught some hybrids and learned how to catch mullet. Tiny piece of mussel on a tiny hook under a tiny cork. Bait 3 inches under cork. Fished with a fly rod. Great fun!!

    Glad y’all caught them!!

It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.
