Works good but don’t take my word for it… hear it from Kevin Rogers.

New to crappie fishing. But looking at recommendations on storing soft plastics. Have many bobby garlands already and finding it a pain to open the bags when the bite is good. Or even keep the bags organized. I strictly bankfish and dockfish so having something small and organized I greatly appreciate. I have heard about the use of mineral oil and a standard plano box working well. Have any members tried this and liked it?

Buy 4 times as many boxes as you think you need. I tried to use the labels from the packs to put on the boxes so I know which plastic is which when it is time to reorder. They didn't stick too well after being removed. Did see a Pro Staffer with the same idea. His stickers were stuck way better than mine.

I use Plano boxes with mineral oil. Works just fine for me.
Whether bank or boat fishing, I don't need to carry a boatload of lures or jigs. In one outing alone I caught over 50 fish on 6 different lures - all different just for a bit of variety and only 6. Jig heads are a different story though not by much: different weights and hook sizes - at least 6 of each stored like this in a small box:
For flat tail lures - most soft plastics have them - I store them in CD cases, but only the ones that I might cast out of the hundreds stored at home. The lid snaps shut, compressing the lures a bit and keeping them straight from head to tail. Both boxes are kept in a larger plastic shoe box with lid along with the usual stuff that must be carried.
Mineral oil, and I like the Plano waterproof boxes with the gasket around the lid for my soft plastics. I feel like my curly tails are lasting a lot longer since I've started using both.
So here is what I've started. I'm worried ill have many bent tails. These are baby shad bobby garlands. Should I take these out and start over?![]()

Mine are in 3600 boxes and stored flat. I use mineral oil to keep them lubed up. Never had a problem with curled tails.

I prefer to leave them in bags, they don't scatter when dropped. If the bite is so good why not just take a few out at a time?
