I have a Shimano Sedona and a couple of Okuma Stinson's in the 500 size. They are on my bluegill setup's and I like them both.

Whats your go to on this size?
What is your crappie set up??
I have a Sedona 2500 on my bass rod an love it. so its high on my list.
I am a lews baitcaster fan so I bought a lews mach 1 size 100/1000 on a 6' ACC rod but it is so light its not balanced. maybe i read to much, but I could see after fishing all day a balanced unit could be a benefit and more enjoyable to use all day. But i am sure people do very well with all kinds of set ups and combos.
I picked the 100 size because that seem like the most common size I seen for crappie. So I kicking around the ideal of the 500 size.
Thoughts?
I like size 1000 or 20 size reels with medium light rods for crappie. For me a 500 size reel is too small for casting to crappie. Reel size does not matter to me when I use longer rods over 8 ft. I'm pitching or dipping most of the time so a reel is nothing more than a line holder.

I have a Sedona 500 for my U/L rods and although it is a nice reel I won’t buy another. The 1000 sizes have a bigger spool and at 6.5 oz or so balance very well on my rods. I like the larger spool.

I like the Shimano Sedona 500 for my ultra-light rods.
I also have 1000, 2500 Shimano for my other rods. Each size has a recommended line size. Stick to it and they work great.

I have several 500 Shimano Siennas that I've used for years. They actually have an oil screw on them. But after fishing with some that are a little bigger in size like 1000 or 1500 and definitely cuts down on the line memory looks.
