    Default PFD question

I purchased this PFD from Cabela’s a few years back. Do PFDs have an expiration date? Also, there is a side pocket with the zipper. Inside the pocket there is a bungee cord. What in the world is that for. This PFD Name: IMG_3332.jpg

Green means good but most have an expiration date sometimes expressed by the month and year. Once pass that date is not considered legal by those who check those things. Is what you're calling a bungee cord actually the rip cord to manually trigger the inflation in case the auto doesn't work. Mine also have a tube inside that allows you to inflate it by blowing in the tube.

Open it up and check the Green pill, if it's expired, REPLACE! I just had to do that with a couple of mine, got the new pills on Amazon!

PawPaw, it does have a manual jerk cord. I can’t find an expiration date anywhere on the PFD. Name: IMG_3333.jpg

I think that little clip is for a whistle or other sound device to be attached.

Look on the co2 cartridge to see if there is an expiration date on it.

If it’s this model, I don’t see a ring to attach the kill switch lanyard. Maybe?Name: IMG_0598.jpg

The more I look at Donny's picture of his PFD, the more I think he added a metal shower curtain ring to it.
