Thread: Anyone have an ACC Crappie Stix they use for casting?

I have 3 ACCCRAPPIESTIX and just ordered number 4.
2-12 footers for Livescope fishing.
1-13 footer Hybrid for same.
I just ordered an 8 ft casting/dock shooting rod yesterday.
I like the 12 foot mid seat rods and not so much the Hybrid.
I’ll let you know on the 8 footer when it arrives. Plan to put a President on it.

Thanks Chuck for the reply…….I was watching videos and reviews last night and came across a video of a guy doing some simple experiments with the ACC and compared it to the ever popular Shakespeare micro series rod. I’ll post the video link….it’s a long video, skip to 17:35 and proceed to watch the comparison and how each rod holds weight differently. I guess people weren’t kidding about the back bone and being stiffer!! 4 oz of weight and the tip is barely flexing….that would lead me to believe it’s a very poor rod for casting super lightweight stuff.

Although they are very good rods they just aren’t for me. Tried a few different sizes and sold all of them. Too stiff for my style. Enjoy my Wally Marshall and Jenko rods much better.

On the stiff side for me as well !

I have everything from BnM to Wally Marshall,,from cheap to pricey.
I think I have over 100,,,quit counting long ago.
I use BnM for pushing and sometimes pulling. 14-16 footers. Depends on conditions. I even have the BnM “Stick” and it’s too heavy in weight for my preference.
12 foot ACCCRAPPIESTIX are used for vertical jigging. 13 foot Hybrid from ACC, I just don’t like, 100 bucks wasted. Lol
To me, the BnM 10 and 12 foot jig poles are too flimsy with not enough backbone to swing 2 lb fish into the boat. All stored back in tubes. Lol
Just thought I would try the 8 footer for pitching and bluegill fishing. It should be here this week.
I don’t cast much at all.
ACC rods are cheap enough to try a few.

I purchased an ACC 8’ about a month or so ago. I like it but undecided on the microwave guides. I’ve had the line tangle a time or two on them. It’s almost same feel as the Thump City 8’ rod which I really like. I like the backbone to them. I think I’m gonna try the 8’ Pro Angler rod and 8’ Southern Crappie rod next. ... maybe...lol.

Hey SuperDave,
I was wondering about the guides???
All of them microwave or just the tip?
Is the first eye larger like a regular spinning or micro like some of my bass rods?
Picture on ACC site doesn’t show much. You running mono, fluro, or braid?

They are the microwave guides. Smaller in size and the bottom guide has the smaller ring inside. I attached some pics. Hope this helps. I usually use mono but I think this one has PLine Flouroclear I’m trying.
