Interestingly enough the jig head weights are named after a Russian 1970’s tv cartoon character name: Cheburashka..,

My apologies for the necro post, but does anyone have any updates on this technique? I'm a noob/re-entry angler & after learning drop shotting & Texas rigs, I was doing some google-fu about Ned rigs & this popped up. Liked what I saw & read, so I ordered some Cheb weights in 4, 7, 10 & 14 gram sizes off Amazon, along with offset hooks from #8 up to 1/0.
They haven't arrived yet, but once I can get out on the water & onto some fish with 'em, I'll let y'all know my results. To my admittedly inexperienced eye, it looks to do everything a Ned does, with the bonus of bait movement. I dunno, but it makes sense to me on the surface & for small money, I'll give it a go.
