    Default Cheburashka....imitating the good!

So I’ve been contemplating and attempting the impossible. As some members may already know my home water outside of Lske Mead are mostly public ponds and man-made lakes that get lots of fishing pressure...leaving mostly the little ones behind for UL enthusiasts like me to tangle with. These little guys ( can easily be caught with almost any bait ... but where are the fun?!) So lately I’ll been trying to replicate Russian most adored rubber jig head called the Cheburashka jig looking like this...

...since I could wait to take delivery of a handful of Ch. weights from EBay. Reasons being I’m trying to incorporate a smaller circle hook into my jig heads arsenal and today I got a few hours to test them out...20+ all below 5 inches!

I maybe am missing something... is that a split shot crumpled close to a snelled hook?

Yes you are correct! I’m replicating the jig just to see if it’s fishsble, while wait for the real deals. The true Ch. Jig will look like this...

...allowing switch out of different size hooks. I see no advantage vs regular trout magnet just something foreign and I’m curious to see how it works. Thanks

There must be some sort of advantage over a regular jig head out it wouldn’t be a thing.

I wonder if it has to do with letting it sit on bottom not moving but allowing the lure to have action in place

Hi, Yodie I hope you have a point. I’m only have tested with sunfish, let’s hope other members will give it a go toward other multi-species and see how affective this simple looking setup benefits.
