Normandy, Nickajack access? skipjack?
Took my son to the Nickajack Dam on Wednesday to try to catch some skipjack, found out it was closed when we got there.Apparently all the TVA dams are closed now.
How's the access to other parts of Nickajack and Normandy now? Can you still get to boat launches? I don't want to drive another hour or so for no reason. Also, if the dams are closed off, where to go for skipjack?

I am pretty sure you can launch at Fire Lake, Barton Springs and the dam ramp. I do not think there are any skipjack in Normandy. I do not know about Old Hickory Dam if it is open or not. There are skipjack there. There is a ramp down stream in Nashville, on the Stones River right up from the mouth.

The access to the dam from 156 -- the parking area by the tailwaters with fishing piers, no boat ramp -- is closed, but I didn't try anywhere else. They put barricades across the entrance. I was hoping to hear about other access points without driving around.

The boat ramps at Shell Mound and below the dam at Nickajack are still open...
