I started out with mine mounted on my trolling motor but switched over to a Fishing Specialties Pole mount. The main reason I went with the mount I have is getting in and out of my boat, the lakes I fish are all flood control lakes and when they are at winter pool there are no docks. The pole is easily moved out of the way and allows me plenty of room at the front of the boat to get in an out.

This is a thread I started awhile back when I first got my livescope. #12 shows the mount that I made when using livescope in my jon boat. Maybe you can use this to get an idea of what you would like to do.

I prefer livescope on a separate pole. I can scoot along on high with the trolling motor and easily scan at least 180 degrees as I move. This gets me on target much faster that if I had to stop the trolling motor so I could make a sweep.

M R Dux, did you use the 0 degree mount or the original mount?

Rickie built mine custom for the gunnel rail system I have on my Excel. I’ll get Rickie in on this thread so I don’t say the wrong thing.

Think mine will work. The ram mount will either use the clamp for the rail on my jon boats and also connect to the ball on the Plano box.Name: 0128201504.jpg

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

For the guys with a pole mount when pointing in direction of trolling motor how much lower in water does the transducer have to be so you are not blocking view????

Doug’s da’ducer apparatusLivescope transducer mounting? is mounted with my prototype swivel base mount that allows him to deploy and stow anywhere along his Excel rail system ...

The swivel mount will be available soon on my website ...

I also have a fixed quick detach mount that allows complete removable of da’ducer apparatusLivescope transducer mounting? and your attached xducers for storage and/or theft protection

I got the trolling motor bracket from Amazon and the pole is similar to a painters roller extension. I have around $60.00 in my mount.

I think he is referring to the actual LS transducer mount that is mounted to the pole. From the factory they come with an 8 degree offset to allow a clear shot around the TM head.
The recommendation for pole mounted units is to utilize a 0 degree mount which has to be purchased separately which offers a better sight picture of the sonar.
