I must have looked like some kind of nut poles sticking out ever where and hafe of them tangled are hung up. what a mess.
But I'm not giving up. spider rig fishing is a lot of work....

I am still pretty new to spider rigging as well. I can tell that once you get your process dialed in, it can be a lot of fun!

I like it when I'm by myself. None of my boys care for it. Scan till you mark fish and their depth, mark it with a waypoint or marker buoy, bait up, set out poles to fish just above them, drift with the wind or ease around with the trolling motor. I never fish more than 4 rods. 3/4 oz weight 16-20 inches above a #2 gold or red hook. Net, minnow bucket and cooler all at my side. The fish will take over from here. Fall winter & spring. I don't fish when it's hot. I like to fish this way when it's chilly outside. That way I can run all day long. Find all kinda stuff on the fishfinder easing along like this.

It can be a lot of fun. I used 6 rods. 4 out the front and one on each side. The new trolling motors will certainly make things a lot easier
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along

I bought the rods and holders to spider rig but have not tried it yet. My fishing partner only wants to jig and we catch enough jigging that I haven't insisted on trying it.

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.

Same here set my pontoon all up for spider rigging/trolling and have never really tried it like jig fishing too much.. have even bought over 400 crank baits and have as of yet to pull cranks but once.

Stick with it and it will work out.A couple years ago I started spiderrigging with my son who was about 9 years old at the time, needless to say we had some real messes those first trips.Over time we started coming up with a system that works for us and now we do well at it,it's by far his favorite way to fish and I really enjoy it too.

Very laid back until you move over a school and get 3 or so on at the same time while drifting and then get an ol white bass on one of the those still in rod holders.

I like to fish but more so like to catch. I think being able to spider rig, pitch a jig, shoot a dock, makes for a more enjoyable day of catchin.

Like said above, stay with it. Only gets easier from here.

Back 20 years ago I went with my dad and another guy to Reelfoot and we were spider rigging. Man I swore that day I would never do that again!!! We had poles getting hung up left and right!!! Broke 2 poles and don’t think we caught a single fish. Today I love it!! Once you get the hang of it, that eye thump gets exciting!!
