Thread: What is your favorite slip float?

Nothing can touch the waggler in terms of sensitivity and casting distance. It has proven superior in decades of international competition.

Here is a video of the 2016 world championships. Every single fisherman is fishing a waggler. If you fast forward to the 19:00 mark, you will see 5-time world champ Alan Scotthorne. He has six rods set up -- each one with a waggler.

I like the ESB also. I've used them so much I've wore the paint off.

My favorite slip floats are the ones I find on the bank or floating in the lake most of which are various sizes of styrofoam body & plastic center quill with the spring line holder. I simply remove the center quill/spring part & use the styrofoam body. I figure I'm cleaning up the environment & recycling/re-purposing.
And yes I do have some Thill slip floats that I did buy, once upon a time. But, to be quite honest about it, I rarely use "floats/bobbers" of any kind when Crappie fishing. Mostly I use floats of various kinds when fishing for Trout or Catfish at the local park lakes that are stocked by the KDFWR.

I have tried a bunch of different ones and i always come back to the basic red and white comal foam cigar float, the only thing I change up about them is I put a peg in the top and bottom of the float to keep the line from cutting into the foam.
