The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"up2specks thanked you for this post

As everyone knows, I can ramble given the opportunity. I’m going to go ahead and tell ya, this could be one of those times. But i promise to be as concise as I can. I’ll start by thanking Up2 for thinking enough of us all to put this together. The time and energy he put out for us is beyond measure. Nothing was left to chance, every nuance had been considered. And when it was all done, all of us agreed that it was a day that we’ll never forget.
The fishing was beyond excellent with everyone catching what we went for. Some of the hoped for didn’t show but that fits their way. Slab and I had a banner day, better than we ever thought it could be. One after another, get the net, put him in the box. Both of us got one that closed in on 20”, and a lot of the others had the drag singing. Where we fished was but one of the details Up2 had planned. For me, it was the best day Trout fishing in over 20 years. I believe Slab will plan some more of these trips, probably with the head traveling gewber in tow. One planned participant was unable to make it, and he was talked of and missed as we enjoyed the day.
Dinner was excellent, just another way we enjoyed each other’s company and conversation. All had stories to tell. The weather started cool but warmed up nicely and jackets were shed, but Slab really had the plan. He wore shorts under his long pants and got down to those with a couple of hours to fish left. The wind laid down at one point, but it was never an issue. So many things all fell into place to make a great day that much better. Even my boss had a hand in it. I requested a sick day to be able to go, and he agreed! I wouldn’t have bet on that, even told Doug I wouldn’t be able to go and had to make a few quick adjustments. I’ll remember this as one of the best Christmas gatherings ever.
Hope everyone enjoys all the recounting of this day. Truly one for the books. I’ll add a few pics and try not to add those already posted. I’ll close wishing everyone a Christmas like no other.
Merry Christmas from the Sunshine State.
