    Default From salt to fresh

Left Southport after a few days of trout fishing and went to my friends cabin for a few hint and fish days. Unfortunately the Pee Dee River is way over flood stage so we had to slosh through a swamp to hunt
This was the road into the hunt club. When we got to a cross road it looked like a river coming through. I felt fortunate we got back out. Name: 20181219_082807_HDR.jpeg

Good news was the fishing was great. Really pretty fish from a pond fed by a tannic stained stream

Didn't see any deer or hogs but manage to step in a stump hole and fill my boot up 100 yards into a 2 mile walk looking for hogs.

We did have venison from the freezer. I fixed country fried cube venison steak with mushroom gravy and yellow grits. Usually have about 6 or 7 show up at cabin for lunch including Charlie's 93 year old father who still lives in his farm home of 60 years Name: 20181217_184600.jpeg

Looks like y'all had a great time for sure !
I am originally from the Pee Dee region and still miss the low country swamp hunting and fishing.
Glad you had another great adventure, these things keep us young at heart.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Very good time you had! Enjoyed your trip and I like the pictures you took. What camera did you use? Is this from your pad you bought a couple years back? Inquirer minds want to know, so give it up Ray!

We are definitely getting plenty of rain this fall/winter. All the lakes and rivers are running high. Hunting might not of been good, but the fish and meal look fantastic.

It's my phone camera Ron. My son won the phone and gave it to me .(He works for ATT) It's an LG G6 android. Really nice phone and camera
The only thing better than owning a cabin on a pond is having a friend that owns one. Charlie's family and mine go way back, but he was behind me in school so I didn't know him until he moved to Lexington a couple of years ago. Really grateful that he shares it with me.

May be, I think he got it in Florence or nearby. I had the original Sneak boat made by the Tindals in Pelion SC. Big mistake to sell it. The steering mechanism in it was far superior to any of the other sneak type boats. This one is more roomy than my 2 man Sneak was though and we put Millennium seats in it this trip and it made a huge difference in comfort.
