CountryBoy, it’s know as a catfish lake, but I’ve never tried. I’m pretty good at catching bait😜. Caught a lot of perch today and 20 largemouth. Had a 7 pound 14 ounce and a 6 pound 11 ounce. Had a good day.

Yep , some good fishing there on Monticello. Haven’t been there in over a year. Some nice bass you caught. Have heard that the next SC record cat would probably be caught on that lake

Amazingly Monticello has a thriving Smallmouth population. With the water warmed by the nuclear plant I thought it was to warm for them. I was going today but the cold plus high winds kept me in the house.
Don and Remus let me know when you are coming and if I can I'll join you. A pontoon is fine, both ramps will handle easily. I know a little about the lake. It is the 1st lake that I caught white perch.

This is the address for the ramp I’m using. Close to where I’m fishing. Only been burning about 1 gallon of gas. Don’t get any better than that.
I won a silent auction bid for a 3 night stay at a nice vacation home on the sub impoundment. Unfortunately the weather was terrible the dates we chose so we looked out the windows a lot. I got restless and went looking for the town of Blair. Ain't no such, just a few abandoned stores on a dead end road. Looked like a trip back to the 50s. Bit spooky too!

The honeymoon on Monticello is over, fished today. 3 of us only keep 25 and had to work hard to get them. White capped!! On fish but they had lockjaw. Only caught 4 bass. Still beat Black Friday shopping.

I went there once a loooong time ago there was a post office that had (if I remember right)a cracker and pepsi machine a middle age woman running the post office and an old gentleman that told us about the big flood way back when. if you look behind the store there is a rail road trestle about 100 ft. down the river bank that crosses river == he said the flood washed out the trestle and water was right up to the buildings == that would be a heck of a pile of water. now you`ve had your history lesson lets get back to fishin

Deep and clear, had some local say the Crappie Fishing is not what it use to be. I’ve been fishing deep so I haven’t found any promising crappie brush. The amount of bait boggles my mind.
