I just go fishing...its either good or its not.....either way I always have a good time just being on the water

In around 10 years on this site I have never been put on the fish by coming to Crappie.com and reading the threads. I've learned a lot about different techniques and what time of year one technique is more likely to be effective than another, but I have never figured out somebody's hot spot by logging on and looking at fish pics or reading a report. About the only useful info that can be gleamed from this site in terms of finding fish is which lakes are hot and which are not, and there are many here that seem like they would rather that information not be shared either, its like they don't want anybody else to catch fish. But if a lake is hot enough, word is going to get out whether it comes from crappie.com or somewhere else, you can bet on that.

That's the best attitude to have. I just don't get why some always get so upset whenever somebody posts a report or some pics of nice fish and gives the name of the lake where they were caught. I got no problem with those that don't want to post reports of their own, but don't jump on somebody's case when they choose to post a report. It just seems like every thread that has a good report or some pics of some nice fish inevitably gets a comment about how many trucks are going to be at the ramp the next weekend because someone posted a few pics on Crappie.com.

I try not to worry about what everyone else is doing. I got a friend always talking about where the “other “ boats are and so and so caught some at lake X or wherever. Sometimes I want throw his phone in the lake. Just fish! Use your skills and knowledge and figure em out!!!

this is my opinion. This site/forum has got to serve a purpose. For me it’s been great seeing posts from different fishermen and there experiences. Teaching others and asking questions. There’s a ton of knowledge on this forum, just ask a question and see for yourself. The problem with what your referring to is totally different in my opinion. I am 100% against naming a lake and wouldn’t even get you close to an area. Thousands of people search this site for information on where to go and don’t give a thing to this site. They don’t even create a log in name. Why is it fair to the people that pointed you to go to Sardis lake and pull crank baits at the dam and they show up and can’t get a parking spot, wait to put there boat in, can’t pull the line they want because of the overwhelming boat traffic, get hung in folks lines, get cussed out for getting too close, wait in line to clean there fish, get checked by wardens because of the overwhelming crowds, etc..because you wanted to go and show what you caught and tell everyone where u caught it. This example is probably not fair in your case because you probably find your own fish. But what about the guys just like you that found there own fish and show up a few days later and it’s a rat race? I firmly believe these lakes wouldn’t experience the down years and the cycles of big fish if everyone would spread out and fish. I have caught a ton of fish on all four lakes here recently. It’s been awesome and all the boats are spread out over all the lakes.
All I can say is "They're all lies. There are no 3lb fish in Mississippi. Photoshopped. Don't even waist your time coming down here. Lol

to those who think that posting what lake you are fishing on effects traffic and numbers and posting pics is bad I am truly sad for you. your missing the whole point of sharing your experience. On one of my lakes have several who are always so secretive and worry constantly about the amount of people who come because of people sharing and I laugh literally in their faces as they are fishing the Least crowded lake in the state! with a dozen or two on the rocks and a small parking lot with about 20 boats on a lake of 6K acres! that's truly no pressure at all. If they knew I was the one posting they would be all upset but they don't go on these sites and even tho I have been posting a lot since I joined some great success the numbers of fisherman hasn't changed at all.
so calm down, make good reports and it's all good. it's not that big a deal.
I just don't get how anybody can reasonably expect to be able to just drive right up to a ramp on a Saturday or Sunday on some of the best lakes in the country for the second most popular game fish in the country and launch immediately with no waiting and then have their pick of parking spots and then once launched and parked have the lake all to themselves and not have to worry about other boaters, never get bothered by the game wardens, catch a limit in a couple hours and then just walk right up to a cleaning station and start cleaning fish without waiting for their turn. Yall think if people stop posting pics everybody is going to forget Mississippi has the best crappie fishing in the country? You can't put the genie back in the bottle.
