I started taking my longlining rods apart because the spawn is over but I’m wondering how many of you keep longlining all summer?
My problem is they take up a lot of space on the boat and I mostly fish brush in the summer.
14 ft rods don’t store well in one piece
Thanks

Brett, since you are a early morning guy, you should probably use them at day break when crappie are closer to the top. I think you would do good under certain conditions. Be in Crowders creek which has a flowing current and work from the back to the front of the creek as the morning starts to heat up. Lot of guys are there and gone before 8 am. it's worth a try. If that don't work then use them as tomato stakes and buy new one in the fall. Your wife will love you for that!![]()

I ran into the same problem and I made a few pieces and fastened them to the beams on the boat shed to lay the rods in. They work great.
If someone can post pictures, PM me an number or e-mail address and I'll be glad to take a couple pics.

Brett I'm still longlining and catching fish. I don't put mine up. Keep with it and you will catch fish. Like Ron said , early morning till they quit. Im going to try pulling cranks next week to try something different hope I can catch some bigger fish
