Default What to do with longlining rods?

I started taking my longlining rods apart because the spawn is over but I’m wondering how many of you keep longlining all summer?
My problem is they take up a lot of space on the boat and I mostly fish brush in the summer.
14 ft rods don’t store well in one piece

    Thanks

Brett, since you are a early morning guy, you should probably use them at day break when crappie are closer to the top. I think you would do good under certain conditions. Be in Crowders creek which has a flowing current and work from the back to the front of the creek as the morning starts to heat up. Lot of guys are there and gone before 8 am. it's worth a try. If that don't work then use them as tomato stakes and buy new one in the fall. Your wife will love you for that!

Don, he has to have crappies around him for that to happen plus CK won't let him in the boat when fish are biting!

I ran into the same problem and I made a few pieces and fastened them to the beams on the boat shed to lay the rods in. They work great.

If someone can post pictures, PM me an number or e-mail address and I'll be glad to take a couple pics.

Brett I'm still longlining and catching fish. I don't put mine up. Keep with it and you will catch fish. Like Ron said , early morning till they quit. Im going to try pulling cranks next week to try something different hope I can catch some bigger fish
