Found some fish today but it was tough. Fished Ash creek, left hand side past the no ski markers. Spider rigging with minnows. Tried jigs but just no action. The hybirds were more readily available as compared to the crappie. And they were hungry. Biggest crappie measured 13 inches with the rest just at the 10 inch mark and a little over. Wind was a little aggravating as it usually is. Fishing by myself, and cleaned 6 crappie and 4 hybirds. Water was 64 degrees. Water was stained, and more stained near the Possum ridge ramp. Fish I caught were 10 foot deep in at least 20 feet of water. I found nothing on the bank. Several shorts caught and released. Many about a 1/4 inch short of measuring.
i went back today also the wind was brutal. i also found them in 20 fow and 10 feet down caught less today than tue about 20 but i had 9 keepers so that's cool lol. i was able to use 3 rods today since they were not as active but that wind is hard on spider rigging
Danny ... did you happen to get a water temp reading ??
i know this sounds weird but i could not get a bite outside of 20 fow not 19 not 21 when the wind blew me off of the 20 the bite died
Thanks, it's getting close to time for them to head shallow, then !!
