If you like shorter the meat dragger is fine . The pulling pole is good for a little extra length . The Pro series rod looks the same as pulling pole but has about 15 small eyes , great in the wind but a pain to thread line through that many eyes . I have all three . We have never netted a fish using these rods but do have to lip big Catfish .I would buy the pulling pole , I have trouble threading the eyes because I have bad ( old eyes ) ones myself .

Thanks Nimrod, I don't like those micro guides for the same reason, plus they don't work well with bobber stops.
Nice catch. I broke a pole a couple days ago so thanks for the pole review.

I have used all kinds but yes rods are designed to bend in an arch , if you grab up towards the end not much room to bend without putting a bad angle . I have swung lots of slabs with these Huckabee with no problem . No rods will hold up with a sharp bend if you load them up too much . Never lift on a sharp vertical pointed rod , let it bend , just not all on the tip .We don't carry a net , ask anyone I have fished with . Swing with steady pressure and using bigger hooks we lose less fish than most using a dip net .
