I would have to say that I was definitely in the strike zone! Our entire group flat wore out the fish. I'm thankful for being able to travel each year and sometimes throught the year to fish, and felt like I could try to give back some intel.

With the cooler weather of this past week, I would say those fish are still right where I left them 7 days ago. They were on the verge of running shallow. Caught all of my fish in 12-17 fow fishing 9-11 feet deep on either pink or chartreuse jigs with Mr. Crappie Monkey Shine tubes tipping with minners. Running 0.5 - 0.7 mph.

Good info. I would have guessed you were running more weight then that.

3/8 + 3/16 is .56 ounce so i mean its not a light rig by no stretch of the imagination. I'm pretty sure im running close to this weight. I can run .7 mph and keep near to vertical on my rig. I think higher speeds are normally for longlining, am I right about this? I googled it earlier. Haha

I power troll at times also but most of the time I long line this time of year. You can cover more water, get the sight and sound of the boat farther from the fish and fish in more wind and rough water. I took a friend fishing last week and he wanted to spider rig. We pushed minnows .5mph and did very good.
    You're right on about speed.

What kind of terminal tackle do you use when long lining?

It will very but normally two 1/6 jigs or a small spinner like a Timmy Toms or Roadrunners. I use a curly tail, stroller or something similar that has action. I start at 1 mph and adjust up or down from there. The last time I went was this past Thursday; I fished three hours and kept 20 over 11" and lost count of the throw backs.

Jay and John fish that area every year. I don't know if it was there but Jay said one day they caught 60 in 2.5 hours.
