I had 3 bad deep cycles that I traded and got credit for the cores towards a Trojan 1275. Wound up walking out the door with a new Trojan for $84. That thing never runs down. I'll never go back to anything else.

Well I bit the bullet and got the US battery. It was a tossup with the Trojan but my dealer said that he thought the US were a little better. They were a little cheaper to. They have a reserve capacity of 290 so they should get me there and back. Thanks to everyone for the help. Bo![]()

Been running optimas for years on everything. They are great batteries, and they won't get acid all over your stuff cause their sealed. Unless you have proof that they can't compete with they Trojans, I'd be very careful. Just because you got 1 bad battery doesn't mean their all bad. I bet there's been a bad battery of all brands.
Glad you are having good luck with them Dutchman but I don't understand part of you statement. What is there to be very careful about? Stating his own opinion? My opinion is the same as his, I have owned one blue top optima and it went bad at just over a year, have owned about a dozen cart batts and have not had a problem, US Battery brand.

Yep, and I bet you everyone has a right to their own opinion due to sage experience. I'm all in on the bet too...![]()

I got 12 volt batteries. About a 1inch longer than a group 29 and 1inch or so taller. Same width. I got XC2 batteries and I believe they have a 290 reserve capacity.
Bad choice of words on my part . He stated "bottom line optimas can't compete with Trojan batteries " . I've got optimas that are 6 years old and still going strong . Never had a bad one . We say on here all the time that we shouldn't bash companies . I can go anywhere when these batteries fail and warranty/replace them . Everybody carries them . and we still haven't really addressed the messy battery acid part .
Everybody has their favorites and everybody has their opinions. Some good info here weigh it all out and make your choice. Its usually best just to agree to disagree.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
