    Default Shrimping Report

Well, was a slow night = 7 hrs shrimping ....
    Started at sunset .....
    Got back home about 2:30am.....
    Total caught = 160, 5-6 inchers = pretty fair sizes ....
    Weight = 8.75 lbs
    160 shrimp/7hrs = 22 pr hr = .4 shrimp pr min = 1 shrimp every 2 minutes (approx) ...
However we didn't do well at all the first hour or so, at 10pm they started showing up,
one here, one there, etc, etc, then about 11:45pm they slacked off,
picked up a little after that lull, then, I ran out of cigarettes = time to go home ......
Wasn't a really bad night at all, we chatted with the boat across and to the side of us and
had a good night (we and the other boat were the only ones out there) .....

(Picture is of only half, had to split half with partner) ....

It's about getting shrimp, but same as fishing, ya go out and if ya don't get any, or a few, then,
ya still enjoyed getting out..... (the winds died down to calm, and the stars were, as always, beautiful) .....

Looks like dinner to me, mmm good.
I enjoy your posts about shrimping. Living vicariously through you. How’d that crab get in there?

Anticipated catching a lot more but didn't happen = in the freezer he goes, awaiting others to join him ...

Heck yea Danny, not a bad night - its all about getting out there & catching some is just a bonus !!
The finest gift you can give to any fisherman is to put a good fish back, and who knows if the fish that you caught isn't someone else's gift to you?"

Ron, to tell the truth, nope, never had a softshell sammich. Only way I ever ate crabs was to clean em all the way to white
then flour and fry em, boil the claws. I just never got into eating them where the guts and all was still in em etc ...
Seen folks do it, but it didn't turn me on ......

I was thinking the same thing. Time for me to break out the lights and nets. I do believe that there is some room in the freezer for some shrimp.
