    There is a Lowrance HDS10 gen2 in the classified right now. That's what I have and it does a great job showing beds.

    I think that the biggest thing to consider in any sonar is the screen size get the biggest you can afford no matter what brand. I have the 7" screen and it can sometimes be really hard to see everything that I would like to see. Here is a picture of fish beds I seen on my old Humminbird 899 HD Si sonar.
