    Default Trolling motor transducer

I’m shopping for a new TM and have not decided which model to get. Is the transducer that’s built into the Terrova good enough to use with a Helix? I have a Mega unit at the console and don’t currently have a unit at the bow but I will get one soon. If the TM trans isn’t good enough for the Helix is there a slot on the Terrova to run the cable in for the transducer? If not on the Terrova, how about on the Ulterra?

The transducer on the motor is only for 2d. Will nod work with DI or side imaging. Best to use external transducer and yes the terrova has a slot you can run cable in. Several YouTube videos on doing that. If you plan to use the transducer that comes with unit, don't unpackage it. Contact Humminbird and exchange it for one designed to be mounted on trolling motor.

May need to verify if you can route cables in groove on the newer MK TMs.

If MK has lift assist cable won’t run through slot.

I just checked. And yes it appears that new terrova has lift assist, and no you cand run cable up shaft with it installed. If you wanted to remove lift assist then you could. If not one of the sponsors on here I think is cornfield crappie makes a really neat standoff setup to hold your cable..

Why in the heck do the people at Minn Kota not make the trolling motors that are plug and play compatible with Humminbird depth finders when they're owned by the same parent company? That's absolutely absurd.
