Default Minnkota Power Center (battery box) rebuild

    Hey fellas,

Most of the electrical features on my Minnkota Power Center battery box died after a few years. This would be the 'state of charge' readout, I think the circuit breakers are shot and even the cigarette lighter accessory plugs are dead or screwy. The only thing working are the heavy wires that connect the outer posts to the posts on the battery. But conceptually I like keeping the battery in the box and liek the idea of having a nice little 'power center' so want to give it some upgrades. Initially I am curious if anybody else has seen fit to modify their box and what stuff they did?

I do use my phone a lot on the water to listen to baseball games so will want a way to charge it up. The easy way is to replace one of the accessory plugs with a better one, then plug in a little portable USB charger.

Any other ideas? A better charge readout?

First it looks like one of your breakers is tripped. Shouldn't be hard to find new breakers and replace. Then I would look aroun and see if I couldn't find a cig lighter and USB port made together you could replace existing one with. Check and redo any bad connections.
