Got a new Minn Kota Ultrex coming. I really like my Fortrex but want the SpotLock feature for fishing brush piles or other structure without the anchor hassle or constant trolling motor adjustment.
It has iPilot and Bluetooth, I didn't get iPilot Link because my electronics are all Garmin, not compatible. Hint to Minn Kota, expand your horizons.
The Ultrex should be a direct replacement, the Fortrex fits the Ultrex mount so I can use it as a backup if needed. The Ultrex is a Fortrex with the added electronics.
Looking forward to it in a couple days.

You will absolutely love it. I upgraded in September and it is unreal. SpotLock and Jog feature is really helpful.

Jared, is the mounting hole pattern for the Ultrex the same as the Fortrex mount? I hate to drill into a new boat. But I will.

Congrats on new tm. I have xi5 and love the spot lock use it ALOT. Mine seems to work so much better if there is wind oppose to when not windy not that you need it not windy. And the fact that lock it into a direction when pulling cranks you get up put fish into live well and not get off course. Takes a lot of work out for you.

I took my Fortrex off and used all the same holes. But I heard another guy say he had to drill two new holes for his.

Have the same trolling motor...had a mk47 mount for my fortrex and got the removable mount for the xi5 to fit right in there. So I can very quickly change from the xi5 back to the fortrex. Sometimes in the spring I would rather use the fortrex (around stumps) so this is an added plus. Hope to enjoy the xi5....haven't used it yet but plan on using it for fishing over crappie piles this winter.

I fish from bank and ENJOY every minute without any interference! That's what life is about.
