Ok, thanks. I think I've got it, but just to be safe I'll ask this question. My unit is a MEGA so I need to press the check mark until it shows 1150-1275kHz on the display to get the most detail?

Correct ... Higher frequency gives more detail (with less range) ...

BTW ... To save a ScreenShot to the SD card - Press and hold the "Mark" button until you see the popup that says "PNG successfully saved" (about 3 seconds) ...

1st pic: yellow (stripe) bass or crappie? Shad might be a smaller/tighter bait ball.
    2nd pic: crappie

That's my guess. I have often seen large schools of yellow stripe in Northern Alabama.

Most importantly, you captured some great shots. They can be whatever you want them to be until you get to drop a line.

I recently changed from amber to blue on my 998c and it seems to help. Personal preference drives you to the color that you are most comfortable with.

Lastly, I sure enjoy Rnvinc's knowledge and willingness to share for our benefit. I did not notice the difference in the picture quality when "marking" until he pointed it out.

Fishing is a privilege...catching is a bonus. Enjoy each precious moment we have to experience our great outdoors!
