They removed the size and creel limit about 2 years ago to help the size problem. Prior to this year, the lake was full of 7 1/2 inch fish with an 8 inch minimum. The rule change has definitely made a difference.
Yes that a lot of crappie McNuggets to process a we're thankful to have them.

When they are in the creeks during spring and fall I love to pull jigs on HR. Unless it is a very bad day easy to catch between 100 and 200. A lot will be small, but they are getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for all the info NCKenner. We may try them Saturday and hope the cold front does not shut them down.

Guessing it takes a while for the 1/32 oz jig to sink 10 ft, right? I'm so used to using 1/16 oz on high rock

Depending on how fast you count, it's about an 8 count. Once you get the feel for it, you'll know when the jig should still be falling and it's not. Then you'll know to set the hook! When in doubt, set the hook. If you see the line twitch or "act different" set the hook. A big help in jig fishing is using high vis line. You'll be surprised at how many unnoticed bites you get when you're not paying attention. I've tried to teach this to many of my friends. Some get it some struggle. Good luck!
