Trolling Battery
Looking to put another battery in the boat for trolling cranks. Of course I'm running my main trolling battery down sooner than I would like. What kind of battery should I be looking for? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm looking also, they tell me to either get 31's or Golf Cart batteries, if you have the room. I currently have a 24Volt 80, I have two 27's and I get approximately 4.5 hours trolling at 1.6. They say the 31's would get closer to 8-9 hours and the cart batteries a lot longer .

Trolling Battery
I assume you are running a 12 volt trolling motor since you mentioned your main trolling battery. You could get another trolling battery (preferably the same size and age of your existing one) and run two batteries in parallel. That should double your trolling time. Just connect a 6awg jumper between the positives and another 6awg jumper between the negatives.

It's is 12 volt motor. A buddy of mine mentioned a dual purpose battery,
group 31. Don't know why dual purpose, should be thinking deep cycle, right?

Yep....Dual Purpose marine batterys are for when you only have one battery and you use it to start your outboard and also run trolling motor on it.

Run one battery until it runs down then switch to the other. Here's what I have.

Go to Batteries Plus, and get the Dura Last deep cycle 29 or 31 for $110 +-. They last and last. Get the biggest 2 that will fit in your compartment. I toll all day +, Cranking in high winds and waves about 7hrs run time. I hope this helps. That's with a 24v
