    Default Raymarine

Is anyone using the Raymarine Axiom with Realvision 3D Sonar? I was at BPS today looking at them, and they are gorgeous with brilliant definition. Im just not sure about Raymarine products and/or customer service. Im sure i would keep a Helix for mapping, but i dont think Humminbird MEGA 360 can come close to the details of the Realvision 3D. It seems fairly easy to navigate through the different screens; I could definitely get used to it. The prices are comparable if you figure you will need a 360 and a Helix 9/10 to run it, to get what the Realvision is giving with one unit.

    Thoughts?

Never used one but Raymarine has been around a long time. Big in the saltwater side. Probably the most used unit in that environment. Good units and suspect customer service is good as anyone else. They have just slowly been getting into fresh water market. When you see those huge deep water units on them tuna boats and such most are Raymarine.

There is a Raymarine pro-staff boat up here with a couple of units that have screens larger than the TV we had when I was growing up. I was out late last fall, right before dark. I kept seeing strange very bright lights on the water at least a mile away that appeared to move every now and then. As I was reeling up my crankbaits, I realized it was that Raymarine boat. I was impressed with those huge screens. Just wish they were in my price range.

They have a 16" screen for about $5000.00! That's a tad bit outta my range

I use Ray Marine They r fine. They started out years ago with the salt water crowd. Never had a problem, so I can not rate service dept. they have the sharpest pics of all, Down image is super sharp. The new Pro 7 is priced great also. Most Sea captains use RM.

I think we will start to see a lot of interesting changes coming out from the brands now that a particular brand's patent was ruled invalid ...

Competition is good for the consumer ...
