Lol...I love this post!

Most posts deal with our successes, this one will be just the opposite! We have fished the past two evenings, with a grand combined total of four keeper crappie. My intuition said that the cooler weather and water temps would really turn them on. That was just not the case, at least for us. As we launched last night, a guy approached me and asked if we wanted in on a one fish bass tournament. I laughed and informed him that we were crappie fishing. As it turns out, we caught some pretty good bass, so declining that offer may have not been the best idea either! On a side note, I decided to try Texas rigging some Sliders and Crappie Dappers. I recently purchased some of Grousefly's version of a Slider jig. I needed to prove to myself that a crappie can be hooked with a hook that is buried in the grub. They can! At least I learned something. The only thing that is picture worthy is a baby bobcat walking down the road, and I'm afraid it was sick! It will get better, and I'd rather be fishing than working!

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Col 3:1ET Fish thanked you for this post
The records that I keep tells me that your experience with not many crappie this month is just the way that it is a lot of the time. The last time that I crappie fished was August 1st and we only had 5 keepers. In June, we had 14 1/2 day trips and caught 396 crappie for a 28.3 per trip average. In July, we had 16 1/2 day trips and caught 237 crappie for a 14.8 average per trip. In August, the only 1/2 day trip, we caught 5. Grin. I'm a pretty good crappie fisherman too. But, I don't night fish which may be better in August. I'm too old to get out at night. I'm usually asleep watching Andy Griffith on TV. Grin.
