If you have a Lakemaster Map Card in your Humminbird you can assign different colors to different depth ranges. Not so with the Navionics cards though.

I have a navionics card in my hbs..the colors are pretty basic just buds for shallow water and white for other parts. I see some pictures of maps with red green blues and so forth is due to another brand of is mine not set up right?

LakeMaster allows Shading shallow water depth as "Red" and any chosen depth contour as "Green"...

Navionics allows changing at what depth the blue changes to white ..

I have my shallow (red) set to the depth my crankbaits run, and the green to a bit of a random area that isn't as important really- The shallow red markings are great to prevent running my cranks into the ground and risking snags.
