Default First Time Kayaker, Planning to Do a Lot More Fishing

As the title says, I got my first kayak a couple of weeks ago. I've wanted one for years, and while planning a vacation to the gulf, I began looking around just for the hell of it. That's when I happened upon the sale that Dick's was running on the Field and Stream Eagle Talon 12. At $399 I couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, I've taken it out three times. I've fished my whole life, but mostly from the bank, except for occasional trips with my dad in his boat. I do have a canoe that I fish from once in a while. I grew up fishing Guntersville and the Coosa. But, I live in Huntsville now, so I'd like to learn more about Wheeler. The ease of the kayak I think will give me access to a lot more areas than I've previously fished. I'm familiar with most of Limestone Bay, but not much else.

Anyway, just rambling. I think I'm going to take the yak out in the morning and maybe try to load up on bluegill.

Nice looking setup. Be safe and have tons of fun. DitchBasser does a lot of kayak fishing over that way. He should be able to help out.

Welcome to the kayak world. I am sure you will enjoy it. I will keep a look out for you around. I fish out of a orange and yellow Wilderness Ride 135 or tan Nucanoe. Good luck I am thinking on trying for some bluegill tomorrow also....full moon hopefully they will be biting.
