    Default Spring Louisiana Salmon Run

These pictures were taken at the Old River Control Structure all gates are open 100 %. That is amazing to see the force and volume of water that moves through there. Any way I was headed to 3 Rivers WMA to go take a look and learn my way around Dobs Bay in the interior of the complex. I new right away we weren't going to catch any fish when we got to the parking lot and it had 3" of water on it, caught a small bass and one sac a lait.Name: WP_20170530_004.jpg

Those are Asian Carp the kind that jump in the boat with you when you run up and down the bayous.

Skip Jacks was also my first thought watching Steve Douglas on the Ohio and Tennessee rivers Catching Skips for Catfish Bait behind spillways ---- just was not sure with that Dark head.... It brought back memories of snagging Buffalo

Man that would spin the old hydro-electric mega watt meter. Looks like Asian's jumping around. I know they are in the basin downstream at Grand Lake (west of Pierre Part in the basin). Water in the Lake Verret/Atchafalaya Basin is the highest I've seen for this time of year since I've been in the area.
