    Default Stratos boats

Anything negative about them? 2003 21xl magnum with an evinrude 225.. I know the big evinrudes can be troublesome but seems to be a pretty nice boat for the price

I ran a 20' 2001 model Stratos for 9 years. Absolutely no complaints. It was powered by a 225 Yamaha V-max. Back then they were well built heavy boats, tough as nails with a fast hull and great ride. That's a great model boat you are looking at, but I would be very skeptical of that evinrude. I've heard nothing but bad things about them. My advice is to look around more for something with a Yamaha, Honda, or Suzuki motor.

Great boat with great reviews like Fessh's. Most I have seen them motors are money pits to say the least especially if they been run hard. Lower units weak and very expensive to replace or repair. Like Feesh said keep looking. Your boat is out there.

It has a new lower unit on it. Everything I've been reading about the 03's dont make em sound too bad.. I have read the omc ficht motors were junk but mainly the 150/175's. I'm going to go look at it Saturday anyhow and see how it runs out anyhow. We all know the guy it belongs to.

My brother in law has a 175 'rude on his boat and has nothing but problems with it. I think most of the issues he has had have been with the ECU.
    I got 350 heads on a 305 engine.
I get 6 miles to the gallon.
I aint got no good intentions.

This one is a 03 225. Right when brp took over and supposedly fixed the problems in the small blocks and improved reliability in the bigger block.

03 wasn't made by omc. It would be a brp by then.
