I've trolled a lot of cranks before and have seen a lot of balls of shad on my graph, then see what I thought was my line hitting them as they passed through the bait ball. But I've never snagged one before last weekend when I actually snagged 4 of them. Not sure if they are gizzard or threadfin shad. Somebody will know though.![]()

It's a Threadfin Shad. If the lower jaw sticks out past the upper jaw, it's a Threadfin. If the upper jaw is more rounded and the lower jaw is shorter than the upper jaw, it is a Gizzard Shad. I hope those were from a big lake near Heber Springs. If so, that's a good sign.
