    Unhappy Reelfoot Report

My buddies and I, total of five of us. Visited the foot for three days and it was the worst fishing I have ever encountered. Three days five men in three boats with a total of fifteen crappie, for all three days. We tried every thing except dynamite. We spoke to several people who were also having the troubles. If anyone is planning a trip, save your time and money.

Haven't seen a Reelfoot report in several years with fish. don't know what happened over there but just like Weiss in Ala it had it's heyday. Could be the 30 fish a day limits. who knows.

They are catching loads of em. Just gotta know where to go And what to use. Reelfoot is different when it comes to crappie. I fish it every week I can for the last 10-12 years. One example of u fish reelfoot and the water has a green tint u might as well go home or bass fish cause you not going to catch crappie. Don't know why but it's true. They like certain colors here to. Me and couple other guides I know here only fish 2-3 different color tubes. There's 5-6 water sheds close to reelfoot that I fish at times to that have good fishing. You can always fish somewhere and get out of the wind. If anyone coming down to fish I don't mind sharing info to help.

I asked for information last week on here but nobody was willing to be of any help. So we went and done our best. We talked to several others who traveled from out of town that had like wise experiences with the catching. Our rental host said that his attendance had fell every year for the past four years, and he sold two of his rental homes. It seems to me that the amount of money that is brought in by traveling fishermen that you would want them to have a pleasant time and to return. But People don't like sharing when it comes to fishing, i would ask people I would encounter on the water if the was doing any good and the acted like everything was a big secret. So i figured them as locals, that didn't want us around. I could go on and on, but I wont. Bad experience again and wont return to the foot.

Reelfoot is a finicky witch and sometimes the slightest (and I mean slightest) tweak in color can make or break you on the foot

It's always been a big secret when comes to fishing. There's only a select few that will help. It's like that everywhere I've ever been. Good luck on your other trips.

the biggest problem with the decline in out of state fisherman is the new cost of licences sales. also think they done away with a 1 or 2 day permit for the lake so it cost lot more than it use to for out of state people. I have always helped anybody that has ever asked me anything about help on the lake. rather it be on here or on water. the biggest problem is everybody thinks they are a guide on the lake, Reelfoot has more so called guides than any other lake in the south. in reality only a hand full of them are creditable

We just got back and did great jig fishing pads. There's a lot of water there that looks good but isn't. You can fish all day in spots that look fishy but aren't. Been going for many years, it like any other lake, there a method to the madness.
