My son and I was in Miflin Wed. morning and we caught 41 and only kept 15. The smallest that we kept was 11". Started out spider rigging with minnows and was not doing any good. My son finally picked up a spinning reel with a grub and on the first cast he had one. We were in 10 to 14 ft. of water but a lot of structure about 8 ft. deep. I finally caught a few on minnows but they were all small the better fish were caught on grubs. The black and char. with sparkle tail was best during the morning. Around noon we changed to pink and char. Did not start fishing until 8:00 and left at 1:30. The water was high but and as clear as it gets in the Delta. The largest was 14 1/2". It was a great way to spent my 65 Birthday good fishing and with
my son.

Sounds like a fun morning Wanafish. I ve only been in Mifflin a couple of times but I really like it over there. That's across the delta from me but I drove to live oak and launched this year and found it wasn't any further than Mcintosh for me, about 35 min. I'm gonna start fishing it more. It takes some will power to get away from minnows for bait but I'm glad I made the break from them this year, artificial is much more convenient. I think the secret to artificial is to keep it moving. Thanks for the report.
